The Council members were elected from external candidates for each of the four seats according to the following areas of activities:

• cultural/arts field, public sector – Egidijus Stancikas, General Director of Kaunas National Drama Theatre, is elected to the Council.

The internal members of the Council are lecturers and researchers who hold positions through competition and apply to become members of the Council.

Upon taking office, at the first meeting of the Council with the participation of the members of the Senate and other representatives of the University‘s academic community, a member of the Council signs an undertaking to act in the best interests of the University and society and perform the functions set forth in the Law on Higher Education and Research in good faith. A meeting of KTU Senate at which the members of the new Council will sign the undertakings is scheduled for 15 June.
